I love coffee. Always have, always will. Of course when I finally realized this love was hurting my health, I gave it up (went out kicking and screaming though, let me tell you).
Then I realized organic swiss water decaf existed. Oh thank goodness. Same great taste, caffeine-free, no chemicals that come with conventional decaf. All is good.
And then add chocolate. It just got better.
Makes 1 serving.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250mL) swiss water decaf coffee, chilled
- 2 pitted mejool dates
- 1 ripe banana (or another 2 medjool dates)
- 1 Tbsp raw cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
- 1 Tbsp hemp hearts
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp coconut flakes
- 8 ice cubes
- raw cacao nibs (for garnish)
Directions
Place chilled coffee, dates and cocoa in a high-powered blender and blend on high until smooth. Then add hemp seeds, chia seeds, coconut flakes, banana and ice, and blend on high once again until smooth. Garnish with raw cacao nibs. Enjoy immediately.
