Looking for a pick-me-up but know that reaching for coffee probably isn’t the best idea? Try this! It’ll give you just the right mix of energy. Matcha (and green tea) provides an energy boost that is more ‘zen’ (due to a substance contained in green tea called theanin, which induces the release of GABA and dopamine, neurotranasmitters that make us feel calm and boost our mood) and lasts longer (due to a slow and steady release of the caffeine), unlike the quick high and then crash that coffee offers.

Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1 ripe banana (or 2 pitted mejool dates)
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1 Tbsp hemp hearts
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- handful of baby spinach (or half scoop of greens powder)
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
Directions
Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend on high until completely smooth. Enjoy immediately.
